Scholarships

The Cinco Ranch High School Parent Teacher Student Association (CRHS PTSA) will award scholarships in the amount of $500 to qualifying students. Our annual goal is to match scholarship distributions to the total amount of PTSA dues we have received. Scholarship monies are disbursed directly to the accredited educational institutions in which the scholarship recipients will be attending.The purpose of the Achievement Scholarships is to recognize CRHS graduating seniors for their contributions of service to the PTSA, at least 2 years of Membership in the PTSA, leadership, involvement, and academics.

PTSA MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED:

The student and at least one parent or guardian must be CRHS PTSA members by Oct. 1 of the student’s junior and senior years. Therefore, it is mandatory to be members both junior and senior years to be eligible for the CRHS PTSA scholarship. Membership in CRHS PTSA for more than the required number of years is appreciated and rewarded.

 This date has been extended to December 1, 2017 for the 2017-2018 school year.

CRHS PTSA SERVICE AND INVOLVEMENT:

Each applicant must log service hours in CRHS PTSA sponsored activities and /or participate in CRHS PTSA sponsored programs. Service hours can be logged throughout an applicant’s high school years.

Hospitality (Teacher Appreciation)
Garage Sale
Participation in “Reflections” program
Directory, Web Pages, Campus Beautification (indoor/outdoor)
PTSA Membership drive
Other PTSA sponsored events and projects

NOT CRHS PTSA Scholarship VOLUNTEER HOUR options:
(These are examples of CRHS volunteer opportunities that will not count as PTSA Scholarship volunteer hours.)

REQUIREMENT FOR APPLICATION:

The applicant must:

Be a CRHS graduate during the year of the award and have attended CRHS for his/her entire junior and senior years.

Applicant and one parent must be members of CRHS PTSA by October 1 (junior year) December 1, 2017 (senior year) of the applicant’s junior and senior years. (2 years PTSA membership required)

Perform and log service hours in CRHS PTSA sponsored activities and/or participate in CRHS PTSA sponsored programs.

Attend an accredited college, university, or technical school.

Maintain a high school GPA of 2.8 or higher. Submit the online application and essay.

Insure application is submitted on Tuesday, May 2nd 2018.

In addition, any student known to be receiving a full-ride scholarship shall not be considered for this award. Should student receive a full scholarship after being awarded this PTSA scholarship, the student is required to return the PTSA scholarship.
